  • The story is about a teenage wizard named Harry Potter and his struggle against an evil wizard named Lord Voldemort. It starts off with him becoming old enough to perform magic at his own will. He is already on a mission: to find certain magical objects to destroy so his opponent is weakened as parts of his soul are in these objects. This is a tale of magic and wonder with many twists and turns, leading up to a suspenseful and suprising ending

  • Harry Potter-the teenage wizard that is the protagonist throughout the story
  • Ron Weasly-Harry's best friend, is a less than adequate wizard that proves himself later in the story
  • Hermione Granger-Harry and Ron's friend, she is a genious and is the best witch in their year
  • Lord Voldemort-An evil wizard who threatens to take the whole world under his control, making all non-magical people (muggles) wizard's slaves
Theme- The theme of the story is that no matter how daunting or impossible a task may seem, if you give some effort and have some help, you can accomplish any task you try



About the Author:JK Rowling

Joanne Kathleen Rowling was born in July 1965 in England. She grew up in a town called Chepstow, eventually leaving to go to Exeter University where she got her degree in French and Classics. She then moved to London, England where she started writing the Harry Potter series on a delayed train at King's Cross station. Over a couple of years she outlined the next couple of books and she finished the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter and the Philosipher's Stone in England), in July 1997(England) and September 1998 (America).
